13 AMAR IPMA LEADERS UNITE FOR THE SUCCESS OF AMAR IPMA CAMP SERIES 1, 2024

 

A total of 88 student leaders from the Angkatan Mahasiswa Antirasuah (AMAR) participated in the AMAR Camp for MARA Educational Institutions (IPMa) 2024, held over three days from 19 to 21 July 2024 at the MARA Student Excellence Centre (PUSKEP) in Lenggong, Perak.

This year’s participants represented 13 IPMa institutions, including Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) Kuala Lumpur, Kolej Profesional MARA (KPM) Beranang, KPM Indera Mahkota, KPM Bandar Penawar, Kolej MARA (KM) Seremban, KM Banting, KM Kuala Nerang, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI), Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) Kuala Lumpur, and Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Bangi.

The program aimed to develop students’ character and resilience in facing future challenges by cultivating a generation that is holistic, competent, competitive, anti-corruption-minded, and upholds high integrity—aligned with the educational philosophy of MARA and the nation.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in various leadership activities, including sharing sessions with senior officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), brainstorming sessions among AMAR leaders, outdoor activities, the Anti-Corruption Movement (GeAR) segment, short video production (FYP), and the Anti-Corruption Activity Presentation Session (SPAAR). Education Organization Division. Also in attendance were officers from the MARA Integrity Unit (UI) and the Education Branch, Community Education Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). The closing ceremony of AMAR Camp Series 1, 2024 was officiated by Tuan Haji Abd Manap bin Abdul Majid, Director of the MARA.

COURTESY VISIT TO FEDERAL TERRITORY OF KUALA LUMPUR YOUTH AND SPORTS DEPARTMENT

 

A courtesy visit was conducted by the Student and Alumni Affairs Division of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) to the Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (JBS KL) on 16 August 2024, to explore potential collaboration on student activities. The visit supported government-led youth empowerment initiatives under the Rakan Muda program, reflecting UPTM’s involvement in SDG-related policy engagement, particularly in advancing SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Associate Professor Dr Syamsul Fozy bin Osman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs, led the UPTM delegation. Mr. Mohd Harith Bin Yahya, Pn, accompanied him. Nik Mazlinahaiza Abdullah, Mr. Mohamad Mukramin bin Samrah, and Mr. Mohd Azidee Bin Mohamad Zin.

Also present at the session were Mr. Zul Fadhli bin Abd Aziz, Deputy Director of the Youth Development Division; Mr. Javiques Badana Anak Joannis, Youth and Sports Officer for the Cheras area; and several other JBS KL officers.

COLLABORATION WITH 515th TERRITORIAL ARMY REGIMENT

 

On 4 September 4 2024, the 515th Territorial Army Regiment conducted a shooting exercise with the Commander of the 515th Territorial Army Regiment. The event took place at the Jugra Shooting Range in Banting, Selangor.

The program was held to strengthen ties among the Commander, Regiment officers, members of the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Territorial Army Support Committee (JAKPAW WPKL & WPP), and affiliated departments or colleges. The exercise also served to enhance their skills in handling the M4 rifle.

UPTM CELEBRATES NATIONAL SPORTS DAY 2024

Collaboration with Federal Territory Department of Youth and Sports

 (Jabatan Sukan Negara Wilayah Persekutuan)

 

The excitement of National Sports Day /Hari Sukan Negara (HSN) 2024 at the Cheras District level was celebrated with great enthusiasm at UPTM on 12 October 2024 (Saturday). UPTM was selected as the host for the Cheras area in collaboration with the Federal Territory Department of Youth and Sports. A total of 1,000 participants, including local residents, students, and UPTM staff, took part in the event.

The main highlights of the celebration were the “Run for the Nation” and “MADANI Fun Walk”, accompanied by other engaging activities such as Mega Aerobics, Aerodance performances, and many more. Exhibition booths from both government and non-government agencies also added to the festive atmosphere of HSN 2024.

The Cheras District HSN 2024 was officiated by YBrs. Mr. Bryan Lew Chee Kwan, Deputy Chairman II of the Federal Territory Sports Council. Also present were Mr. Javiques Badana Anak Joannis, Youth and Sports Officer for the Cheras District, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Syahirah binti Sy Shiekh, Vice-Chancellor of UPTM, along with members of the university management team.

At the same time, UPTM also took the opportunity to launch the Occupational Safety and Health Month 2024 (OSH-FEST), which will take place throughout October and November.

BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN ORGANIZED BY OSH-FEST 2024

The Blood Donation Campaign, organized by the OSH-FEST 24 committee, concluded today, Tuesday, 22 October 2024. Thank you to all UPTM students and staff for their extraordinary support.

Congratulations also to the Faculty of Business & Accountancy (FABA) for being named the "Most Generous Donor Faculty”.

 

A GLIMPSE OF THE CHARITY GOLF CHALLENGE

Collaboration with The Parent-Teacher Association/Persatuan Ibu bapa dan Guru (PIBG) of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Selatan (SKSBS)

 

On 10 November 2024, 15 students from AB202 participated in a charity golf event at the UniPutra Golf Club, UPM, Serdang. The Parent-Teacher Association of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Selatan (PIBG SKSBS) collaborated with the Faculty of Business and Accounting (FABA) to organize this activity to raise funds for school facility improvement projects for the students of SKSBS. Mr. Mohd Shukri Bin Othman, as the Chairman of PIBG SKSBS, was the main driver of this program.

The event was also held to fulfill the academic requirements for students taking the Sports Media (SPC3013) and Sport Sponsorship (SPC3053) courses, mentored by Sir Nuriman Bin Abdul Malik and Ms. Norhayati Binti Wahib. This event offered a unique opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting, combining sports, media, and sponsorship efforts for a noble cause.

Through this valuable experience, our students not only gained hands-on experience in sports media and sponsorship but also learned the values of teamwork, social responsibility, and community support. These are truly effective learning moments that contribute to shaping future professionals in sports media and sponsorship.
