FOOD BANK LESTARI: MAIWP PRIHATIN 2024 HUMANITARIAN AID MISSION
On 29 June 2024, the seventh and eighth sessions of the Food Bank Lestari – MAIWP Prihatin 2024 Humanitarian Aid Mission took place at PPR Pantai Ria and PPR Seri Cempaka, Kuala Lumpur. A total of 200 recipients, 100 from each location received food baskets and personal hygiene kits.
The program is a collaboration between the Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP). The contributions from MAIWP are funded through zakat collections, aimed at assisting asnaf (eligible Muslim beneficiaries) in the Federal Territories.
The events were attended by Mr. Azhar Ahmad, Chief Financial Officer of YFBM, and community representatives from both PPRs. Volunteers from Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) also joined to support the mission. The Food Bank Lestari – MAIWP Prihatin 2024 initiative will continue across 23 selected PPRs in the Federal Territories throughout the year.

COLLABORATION WITH APPGM-SDG (ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUP MALAYSIA ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL)
Zoel Ng, Hirzawati Atikah, Kellin Wong, and Philus joined the UPTM Vice Chancellor and team on a courtesy visit to explore future partnerships with the institution, held on 22 February 2024. The team explored collaborations for: ESG micro-credential program, policy advocacy, solution provider, impact evaluation, and conference.

Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) continues to strengthen its commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic collaborations with national agencies and non-governmental organizations.
On 24 July 2024, a follow-up meeting was held between Mr. Anthony Tan, Zoel Ng, and Hirzawati Atikah with Professor Ts. Dr. Zahrah Yahya, Professor Dr. Abdul Razak Ibrahim, and the UPTM Micro-Credential Team to discuss plans for micro-credentials collaboration with MySDG Academy.
This collaboration seeks to enhance the accessibility and quality of lifelong learning opportunities in alignment with SDG 4 (Quality Education). By partnering with MySDG Academy, UPTM aims to promote capacity-building initiatives that empower individuals and communities with knowledge and skills relevant to sustainable development. This partnership underscores the university’s ongoing efforts to work closely with NGOs and allied organizations in advancing the national SDG agenda.

Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) also demonstrates its proactive role in integrating sustainability principles within its academic and professional development initiatives.
On 18 and 19 October 2024, UPTM organized the ESG Micro-Credential Development Workshop, bringing together academic leaders, industry experts, and curriculum specialists to design and refine short courses focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
Prof Rashila, Zoel, Hirza & Salinee, along with 21 lecturers and the leadership team, attended a two-day ESG Micro-Credential drafting retreat in Putrajaya. The short course being developed is titled "Corporate Sustainability Accelerator Program: Designing Action Plans & Reporting".
This initiative, which began in February 2024, aims to establish a partnership between MySDG Academy and UPTM to offer micro-credentials to corporations. The project has now reached its final stage of development.
This effort supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), fostering collaboration between educational institutions and the corporate sector to advance the sustainability agenda. It also contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by equipping professionals with necessary ESG skills.

COLLABORATION WITH PERSATUAN SAINS SOSIAL MALAYSIA (PSSM) AND INSTITUT KAJIAN MALAYSIA DAN ANTARABANGSA (IKMAS)
“Localising SDGs in Malaysia: Capacity Building on Monitoring and Impact Evaluation Program” is organised by the Malaysian Social Science Association (PSSM) in collaboration with the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS). Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) is proud to be part of this program through the involvement of its appointed evaluators.

- DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
ACADEMIA INDUSTRIAL COLLABORATION 2.0 CEREMONY
A collaborative effort was sealed by UPTM with 27 strategic partners through a Note of Collaboration (NoC) at the Academia Industrial Collaboration 2.0 (AIC 2.0) Ceremony. AIC 2.0 is a joint initiative of the Industrial Relations & Academic Internationalisation Sector (ILAI) and the Student Affairs & Alumni Sector (HEPA) held on 12 September 2024.
UPTM has taken a significant step by exploring high-impact initiatives through this industry collaboration. AIC 2.0 is a leap forward aimed at maximising the employability of UPTM graduates and equipping them with the knowledge and opportunities provided by industry players. This type of exposure is vital for UPTM to produce high-quality, skilled, and competitive graduates who will become the top choice for employers. The AIC 2.0 event also included a career fair with the participation of several private companies and government agencies.
The AIC 2.0 was officially launched by YBhg. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Syahirah binti Sy Shiekh, the Vice-Chancellor of UPTM. Also, in attendance were YBrs. Mr. Saifulkahar bin Shariff, Director of the Headquarters' Department of Continuing Education, who represented the Chief Executive Officer of KPTM Sdn. Bhd.; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syamsul Fozy bin Osman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs & Alumni; Dr. Mohd Erfino bin Johari, Director of the Industrial Relations & Academic Internationalisation Sector (ILAI); as well as UPTM management, faculty leadership, and representatives from various companies and organizations.

Held at Pusat Komuniti Setiawangsa from 9am to 5pm, the event was guided by Ms. Fatin Nadhrah Binti Mohd Khir and involved 41 students, and participated by small entrepreneurs from the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) Ampang branch.
The program aimed to enhance participants' understanding of digital business tools, assist them in generating new business ideas, and foster a stronger connection between the university and the local business community. This initiative highlights UPTM's dedication to community service and entrepreneurship, promoting lifelong learning and digital business skills.

On 9 & 10 November 2024, our 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀) (𝗔𝗕𝟮𝟬𝟮) students organized a SULAM program titled Empowering Digital Business at Geno Hotel, Subang Jaya. Ms. Zaidatulnisha binti Ab Jalil supervised the program, which involved passionate participants from Usahawan Asnaf TERAS-Lembaga Zakat Selangor.
The program aimed to enhance the Asnaf microentrepreneurs' understanding of managing businesses through digital platforms, particularly in challenging business environments. This program strengthens the relationship between UPTM and the community as well as promoting entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and digital business skills.

EMPOWERING BUSINESS IN THE DIGITAL ERA
On 9 November 2024, our Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Human Resource Management (AB201) students organized a SULAM program titled Empowering Business in the Digital Era at 12 WKSP BGD, Kem Sungai Buloh from 8.30am to 1.30pm. The program was guided by Dr. Zaliza binti Azan and participated by Badan Kebajikan Keluarga Angkatan Tentera (BAKAT).
This program aimed to provide a platform for entrepreneurs to develop their businesses through digital products. It included training workshops and exhibition booths to help entrepreneurs gain skills and knowledge for the digital business landscape. Talented individuals from the Sungai Buloh area also participated, giving them a chance to learn and expand their networks in digital business. The program's goal was to increase digital business knowledge and skills among participants, helping them adapt to technology and digital approaches for business growth, including ventures like TikTok Affiliates and other digital entrepreneurship.

On 10 November 2024, our Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Human Resource Management (AB201) students organized a SULAM program titled Creativity in Business & Navigating Business Through Digital Platform for Creativity & Innovation in Entrepreneurship (ETR4013) course. Held at TUDM Subang from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., the event was guided by Dr. Zaliza binti Azan and involved 76 students.
Participated by Badan Kebajikan Keluarga Angkatan Tentera (BAKAT), Pangkalan Udara Subang, the program aimed to provide BAKAT members with opportunities to deepen their knowledge of digital entrepreneurship fundamentals, offering them essential insights and practical approaches to succeed in the digital business landscape. Additionally, the initiative focused on supporting the development of participants' social networks, fostering connections that could benefit both personal and professional growth. Through targeted sessions, the program also enhanced participant's understanding of conducting business through social media platforms, equipping them with the skills to reach and engage a broader audience online.

On 30 October 2024, 38 students from the Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) (AA201), accompanied by three accounting lecturers, had the opportunity to visit the Accountant General's Department of Malaysia (JANM) in Putrajaya. Led by Mrs. Siti Hirdayu binti Mohd Radzi, the visit aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the role and functions of JANM in Malaysia's public sector.
During the program, two officers from JANM gave a comprehensive briefing on the shift from cash accounting to accrual accounting currently practiced in the public sector. This session enriched the students' understanding of the accounting systems used in government, highlighting career pathways in the public sector and the corporate, financial, and accounting fields. The students gained more insights into best practices in financial management that can be applied in various professional contexts.
This visit provided an excellent platform for students to broaden their knowledge and explore the diverse career options available in the public and corporate sectors after graduation.
