HANDS FOR DISLEXIC

Description: The participants who attended this program, besides the students and educators from DAECC, were lecturers from FCOM. Among the activities conducted were:
1. Installing bookshelves
2. Organizing and arranging the DAECC workspace
3. Engaging with the children at DAECC
4. Educational games
5. Donation of sponsored items such as woven bags, books, and tablets for the children
6. Play-Doh
7. Educational toys

PROGRAM PEMBANGUNAN KEAGAMAAN DAN PENDIDIKAN 3M KOMUNITI MASYARAKAT ORANG ASLI
This program was conducted in several series from 6 January to 24 April 2023, at Surau Al-Hidayah Koa Pabai, Miku Rembau Negeri Sembilan. Program Pembangunan Keagamaan dan Pendidikan 3M Komuniti Masyarakat Orang Asli (Indigenous Community) addressing on the religious and general education among Orang Asli community, potentially utilizing the 3M “Membaca, Mengira & Menulis” in English as well as Iqra/ Fardhu Ain. The Collaboration with All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia for Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG) is likely to empower the community through education and assist them in learning the fundamental Islamic knowledge. Dr. Madihatun binti Zainuddin, a Senior Lecturer from Centre of Islamic, General and Language Studies (CIGLS) is in charge of leading the program.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT
Date: 9 and 12 January 2023
Description: The educational visit to Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn Bhd was intended to expose corporate communication students to the functions and importance of media in society. Visits to various departments such as journalism, publishing, editing, and others provided new practical knowledge to the students, complementing what they have learned in class. This visit involved two groups of students, consisting of 40 students and one accompanying lecturer.

BIZ MALAYSIA (RINGGIT BIZ)
UPTM lecturers were featured as panels in the Economic Perspective Sharing Session on RTM (TV1). BIZ MALAYSIA was broadcast on TV1 and RTM News Channel. It airs from Monday to Thursday, from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and on Friday from 3:05 PM to 3:30 PM focusing on educating the community about economic principles and opportunities. This engagement provided residents with practical knowledge and tools to drive economic growth, improve financial literacy, and support community development. Their participation can help to enhance community understanding of economic dynamics, promote effective strategies for local development, and encourage sustainable economic progress.

PEMULIHAN EKOSISTEM PAYA BAKAU

Description: This CSR program was organized by the Faculty of Business, Accounting, and Social Sciences (FBASS) and the Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS) at Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), in collaboration with the Malaysian and Selangor Forestry Departments. Through this program, UPTM staff were able to foster a spirit of volunteerism and cooperation in ensuring the conservation and restoration of mangrove forests.

On 9 December 2023, Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) organized CSR program and it became than just an event—bringing together diverse groups in a celebration of community and shared purpose. The day was filled with heart-warming moments, where smiles, laughter, and the joy of connection resonated throughout the gathering. But beyond the immediate happiness, this program served as a powerful catalyst for change, embedding the principles of sustainable development into the fabric of our wider community.

DRAMA FESTIVAL
Date: 18 until 19 Mac 2023
Description: The organizers of the Drama Festival FEHA, UPTM 2023, have received an offer to hold this drama festival in collaboration with the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) to boost tourism in Malaysia. The drama performances involve 236 students from four (4) programs, including BE101, BE201, BE202, and BE203. Five (5) drama productions are involved in this event, including Gemalasari, Nirmala, Bimasakti, Inderapura, and Suri. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture to position Malaysia as a premier destination for tourism, arts, and culture on the global stage. This fruitful collaboration not only helps to identify unique talents and develop students' skills in using English but also eases the financial burden on students by covering the costs of renting the hall and other necessary facilities needed for the success of this drama festival.

BERBAGI TEKNOLOGI UNTUK MENERANGI KOMUNITI

Description: This is the first SULAM project from Faculty of Computing and Multimedia (FCOM), under the Computing and Multimedia Project for Society (UCS3133) course, hoping that the knowledge shared will be beneficial to the community of Surau Al-Muttaqin, Alam Jaya Cheras. Providing social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, for the local adjacent community by offering guidance on the use of social media and smartphone applications, introducing digital payment technologies such as e-wallets and QR Codes. This project is a positive example of how higher education institutions and information technology can strengthen communities and promote values of cooperation and social responsibility, creating a positive impact in society and building a better future.
