BENCHMARKING VISIT AND CAMPUS TOUR

 

BANK MUAMALAT 

 

On 2 February 2024, Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) welcomed a visit from the management team of Bank Muamalat. The visit aimed to introduce the establishment of the UPTM Zakat Committee and to discuss potential industry collaboration initiatives.

The meeting also focused on collaborative efforts related to the i-Tekad Program (Entrepreneurial Empowerment for Asnaf and B40 Students) and explored opportunities to provide zakat assistance to UPTM’s asnaf students.

In conjunction with the visit, the Bank Muamalat delegation was given a campus tour, providing them with an overview of UPTM’s academic facilities and student support services.

The discussion was attended by Hj. Zaharuddin Alias, Head of the Social Finance Department; Mr. Mohd Azim bin Mohd Saufi, from the Social Finance Department; and Ms. Hariyanti binti Mohmod, Regional Deposit Manager of Bank Muamalat.

SMK KOMPLEKS GONG BADAK, KUALA TERENGGANU

 

On 8 March 2024 (Friday), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) welcomed a study visit involving 40 Form Five students and three accompanying teachers from SMK Kompleks Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.

The program included a briefing session on study opportunities at UPTM, delivered by Mr. Mohd Azidee bin Mohamad Zin, Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer of UPTM. During the session, UPTM representatives also shared valuable insights on the advantages of furthering studies at UPTM with the participating students.

In addition, an alumni sharing session was conducted by Ms. Nur Elne Shazuwanie binti Mohd Zuhairi, a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Human Resource Management student at UPTM, who is also an alumni of SMK Kompleks Gong Badak.

A campus tour was also held, where students were taken to visit several locations, including lecture rooms and the Early Childhood Education Simulation Room.

It is hoped that educational visits such as this will continue to be organized more frequently to provide broader access to information and contribute to the success of the national education agenda.

UNIVERSIDAD IXTLAHUACA, CUI MEXICO

 

On 24 May 2024 (Friday), Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) received a courtesy visit from the delegation of Universidad Ixtlahuaca, CUI Mexico led by Dr. Margarito Ortega Ballesteros, Rector of the university. The visit also included several academic representatives and collaborators from Malaysian institutions.

The meeting focused on potential collaborations in academic programs, research initiatives, and student mobility between the two institutions. A Note of Collaboration (NoC) was also signed during the session.

As part of the visit, the delegates were given a campus tour to explore UPTM’s learning facilities and academic environment. The visit served as an inspiration for UPTM to expand its academic network in Latin America, starting with Universidad Ixtlahuaca, CUI Mexico.

UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG (HKU)

 

On 29 May 2024 (Wednesday), Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) received a delegation visit as part of the international student mobility program between UPTM and The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The delegation comprised Mr. Nate Ho, Program Manager from the HKU Admissions Office; Ms. Teresa Deng, Student Recruitment Advisor; and 30 students from The University of Hong Kong.

During the visit, UPTM students had the opportunity to interact and engage in fun activities with the HKU students. The session not only strengthened the bond between the two universities but also provided a platform for students to exchange cultural and learning experiences.

This visit is expected to inspire UPTM to further enhance international collaborations and expand its global academic network. The initiative aligns with UPTM’s goal of providing world-class educational experiences to its students and increasing the university’s international recognition.

SMK DATO HAJI MOHD SAID

SMK DATO HAJI ABBAS

SMK KOMPLEKS TEMBESU, KUALA TERENGGANU

 

On 13 June 2024 (Thursday), from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) welcomed a study visit involving 120 Form Four and Form Five students along with nine accompanying teachers from SMK Dato Haji Mohd Said, SMK Dato Haji Abbas, and SMK Kompleks Tembesu, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.

The program included a briefing session on study opportunities at UPTM, delivered by Mr. Mohd Azidee bin Mohamad Zin, Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer of UPTM. During the session, UPTM representatives shared valuable insights on the benefits of pursuing higher education at UPTM.

Additionally, an alumni sharing session was conducted by current UPTM students who are alumni of the visiting schools. As an added note, there are currently 355 students from the state of Terengganu studying at UPTM.

It is hoped that educational visits like this can be held more frequently to further disseminate valuable information and contribute to the success of the national education agenda.

DUNGUN VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

 

On 30 August 2024, the Faculty of Business & Accounting (FABA) at UPTM received a benchmarking visit from the Business Management Program of Dungun Vocational College (KV), led by Mr. Muhammad Farizan Bin Embong, the Head of the Business Department.

The delegation, consisting of 9 lecturers and 21 students, aimed to share experiences and knowledge related to the management and governance of an organization.

In addition to a faculty briefing by the Dean of FABA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norreha binti Othman, and a discussion between lecturers, the students also participated in activities assisted by UPTM's Foundation in Commerce students.

It is hoped that both parties gained valuable knowledge from this visit that can be applied for their mutual development and progress.

PIBG SEKOLAH KEBANGSAAN SERI BINTANG SELATAN (SKSBS)

 

In an effort to build collaborative networks with the local community, the Faculty of Business & Management (FABA) held an initial meeting in September 2024 with the Parent-Teacher Association of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Selatan (PIBG SKSBS) to discuss the direction of a collaboration that will also benefit the surrounding community. Representatives from Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bintang Selatan management also attended.

During the discussion, a proposal was put forward by Mr. Mohd Shukri Othman, the Chairman of PIBG SKSBS, who expressed his desire to organize various joint programs with FABA, represented by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norreha Binti Othman, and the Deputy Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Izzwi Binti Abdul Manan.

Thank you to all parties who have shown their commitment and support in making this event a success. It is hoped that this collaboration will yield beneficial results for everyone.

SM TEKNIK KUALA LUMPUR (SMTKL)

 

The Studython Prinsip Perakaunan event was successfully held at Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) on 26 October 2024 as part of the University Social Responsibility (USR) Project. The programme welcomed 60 students from SM Teknik Kuala Lumpur (SMTKL), providing them with an engaging learning experience in accounting principles. 

The event strengthened the collaborative relationship between UPTM and SMTKL, reflecting both institutions’ commitment to fostering educational partnerships and student development.
