AN IMPACT ASSESSMENT STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ISHRAF’S SME BANK ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME

This study employed mixed methods, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Based on qualitative findings, the Ishraf program impacted participants across eight areas: Confidence, Quality, Business Growth, Capital, Networking, Opportunity, Knowledge, with some reporting no impact. The program’s effectiveness relied on eight factors: continuity, coaching, discipline, capital, experience, networking, syllabus, and a conducive learning environment, enhancing participants’ business growth.

The ISHRAF program emphasizes seven key teaching themes: syllabus, practical learning, online platforms, small groups, coaching, continuity, and face-to-face interaction, enhancing personalized support and engagement. The fourth objective identifies four key teaching methods: Coaching, Funding, Module, and Monitoring. Effective coaching involves ground visits, expert support, and continuous, long-term engagement for personalized assistance.

The descriptive analysis highlights both strengths and weaknesses in the current performance of entrepreneurs. While business expense management and contributions to education are notable strengths, areas such as financial health, loan management, and individual savings require significant improvement. Inconsistencies in market growth and sales performance indicate a need for targeted strategies to stabilize and enhance overall business outcomes.

Participants showed moderate effectiveness in knowledge gained from the ISHRAF Program, with particular improvement needed in employee relations and technology utilization. Correlation analysis reveals important interconnections among business factors, suggesting that developing management, resource, leadership, and proactive skills can significantly enhance organizational performance. The proposed strategies aim to provide tailored support for asnaf entrepreneurs, emphasizing needs assessments, competency-based training, and flexible modular programs. Mentorship and business incubation will offer vital resources, while microfinancing options will facilitate growth. Digital marketing training and the integration of Islamic values will further enhance ethical entrepreneurship, supported by ongoing monitoring and evaluation to ensure continuous progress.
