Education for SDG in the wider community
1. ALUMNI
MAJLIS SAMBUTAN HARI RAYA ALUMNI UPTM LIP LAP SYAWAL 2023 (1444H)
Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) achieved full university status in 2023 and has successfully graduated over 20,000 alumni since its establishment. To align with UPTM’s goal of strengthening its alumni network, it is important to maintain strong ties with alumni, encouraging them to contribute back to UPTM through their knowledge, expertise, and support for both UPTM alumni and students.
In conjunction with the UPTM 2023 Raya Celebration, this event took place on 19 May 2023, aiming to enhance the festivities and offering alumni a chance to reunite with their lecturers and UPTM management.
ICT GOT TALENT 2023
On November 16, 2023, the 'ICT Got Talent' event took place at the UPTM Futsal Hall. Students Affair Sector and Faculty of Computing and Multimedia (FCOM) UPTM, was honored by the presence of Alumni UPTM, Ts. Syahmi Suleiman from Bluesify Solution, En. Habib Talib from Blacksmith Data, and Yang Berbahagia, En Raja Safuan from Onesty Group, and expresses gratitude for their willingness to participate in the forum titled "Challenges and Opportunities in Industry 4.0," moderated by FCOM lecturer, Ms. Farah Farzana.
During the forum discussion, students were introduced to the importance of engaging with programming communities such as WordPress, Django, and Flask. They were also shown how to generate income using their existing knowledge through freelancing or participating in high-impact projects. Indeed, this event successfully brought students closer to the real-world industry environment, with the hope of inspiring them to achieve success in this field.

UPTM's Citra Alumni Jaya Webinar is a webinar program involving Outstanding Alumni in their career and life. This program is held to celebrate alumni and at the same time set the good examples to all UPTM citizens

MAJLIS HI-TEA AIDILFITRI ALUMNI IPS UPTM
The Aidilfitri Hi-Tea Alumni Event of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) took place at Dorsett Hotel Putrajaya 20 May 2023 / 29 Syawal 1444H. The event, themed 'Ceria Raya' and carrying the motto "An Evergreen Bond Goes Back and Beyond," was a collaborative program organized by IPS & the Counseling & Alumni Division of UPTM, much like a homecoming.
In his officiating speech, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim bin Abdul Rahman, President of UPTM, stated that such programs are one of the management’s efforts and support to provide a platform and rebuild ties between alumni, lecturers, students, and fellow IPS alumni.
Also present at the event were YBrs. Encik Kassim bin Osman, Registrar of UPTM, YBrs. Prof. Madya Dr. Nurisyal binti Muhamad, Dean of IPS UPTM, IPS lecturers, IPS Alumni, and APROS.UPTM expressed its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for the presence and success of the IPS Aidilfitri celebration with IPS alumni and hoped that all would bring honor to the name of UPTM, their families, and the nation.
2. LOCAL COMMUNITY
HANDS FOR DISLEXIC
On 4 January 2023, Faculty of Computing & Multimedia (FCOM) has carried out a USR (University Social Responsibility program at Dyslexia Ampang Enrichment Care Center (DAECC). Students and educators from DAECC, FCOM lecturers also participated in this event. Among the activities conducted were:
1.Installing bookshelves
2.Cleaning and organizing DAECC's workspace
3.Engaging with the students of DAECC
4.Educational games
5.Donation of sponsored items such as woven bags, books, and tablets for the children
6.Playdough activities
7.Educational toys
A heartfelt thank you to the FCOM team and the DAECC staff for making this program a success. Congratulations also to the Project Leader, Dr. Fatimah Bibi, for her tireless efforts in organizing the program, and thank you to Ms. Hazlina, the Principal at DAECC, for welcoming us to engage with the students at DAECC.
This program exemplifies SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which emphasizes the importance of collaboration to achieve sustainable development. The successful execution of this program reflects a strong partnership between FCOM and DAECC, highlighting how collaborative efforts can significantly impact the community, particularly in supporting the education and well-being of children with dyslexia. By working together, FCOM and DAECC have demonstrated the power of partnerships in promoting inclusive education and ensuring no one is left behind.

SDG SITE VISIT
The SDG site visit, conducted on 13 January 2023 at Sekolah Hakim Teh, was a significant event that showcased the power of collaboration in advancing sustainable development. Organized in partnership with Persatuan Sains Sosial Malaysia, All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia for Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG), and the Voluntary Agensi Antidadah Kebangsaan (AADK). The visit brought together various stakeholders to address critical social issues within the community. This initiative not only provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by the local population but also demonstrated a practical application of SDG 17, which emphasizes the importance of strengthening global partnerships to achieve sustainable development. By working together, the participating organizations reinforced their commitment to creating a positive impact through shared knowledge, resources, and expertise.
3. INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY
PROGRAM PEMBANGUNAN KEAGAMAAN DAN PENDIDIKAN 3M KOMUNITI MASYARAKAT ORANG ASLI
This program was conducted in several series from 6 January to 24 April 2023, at Surau Al-Hidayah Koa Pabai, Miku Rembau Negeri Sembilan. Program Pembangunan Keagamaan dan Pendidikan 3M Komuniti Masyarakat Orang Asli addressing on the religious and general education among Orang Asli community, potentially utilizing the 3M “Membaca, Mengira & Menulis” in English as well as Iqra/ Fardhu Ain. The Collaboration with All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia for Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG) is likely to empower the community through education and assist them in learning the fundamental Islamic knowledge. Dr. Madihatun binti Zainuddin, a Senior Lecturer from Centre of Islamic, General and Language Studies (CIGLS) is in charge of leading the program.

CSR PROGRAM AT KAMPUNG ORANG ASLI BUKIT MANCHUNG
On 9 December 2023, Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) organized CSR program and it became than just an event—bringing together diverse groups in a celebration of community and shared purpose. The day was filled with heart-warming moments, where smiles, laughter, and the joy of connection resonated throughout the gathering. But beyond the immediate happiness, this program served as a powerful catalyst for change, embedding the principles of sustainable development into the fabric of our wider community.
Ultimately, our CSR program on December 9th was a testament to the power of education and collaboration in driving sustainable development. It showed that when we invest in our communities and educate them about the importance of the SDGs, we lay the groundwork for a future where these goals are not just aspirations but lived experiences for everyone.
